Text description provided by the architects. The project is located in a long narrow property in the area of San Isidro, Lima. We decided to create a third front side to incorporate natural light to achieve as many rooms in the house. This street runs lengthwise the project, from the entrance to the rear garden.
We work a topic of interest for the office to generate a previous journey, and a transition from public to private space before entering the house. Spatial moments and relations are developed in this street. The design aims to thin the boundary between interior and exterior spaces that occur on the street, given the mild climate of our city throughout the year.
A bridge crosses from the entrance to a courtyard which houses access to the dwelling itself. The perspective of the street leaks through the deck space to finish in the pool-garden. The internal spaces maintain a close relationship, and again work with the concept of close relationship between interior and exterior. For instance, a side screen which can be opened entirely will divide the hall from the terrace being sheltered by the same roof.
